20.11.20: Ramayana 3.0

This project was the fruit of the collaboration in between l’Università degli studi di Napoli “l’Orientale” and Associazione Sākshi, we wanted to narrate the story of the Ramayana - An ancient yet popular story in Indian traditions - through the voices and faces of the students of the University l'Orientale

This Ramayana 3.0 is a multimedia reinterpretation of the classical Ramayana that creates ancient atmospheres in a postmodern structure and scenario, and that focusses on the expressiveness of the faces brought to life by classical dance makeup. its also elucidates the multilingualism of indian theater and tries to recreate the ambience by using dialects of Italian (Roman and Neapolitan) . The chorus element which appears throughout the various sections of the Ramayana involve recitation in Avadhi of Tulsidas's Ramcharitmanas and Sanskrit maintaining the devotional Aspect of the Ramayana
